On April 15th, 2023 at 09:15 Pueblo Fire Department was dispatched Pueblo 911 Communications Center (City of Pueblo Police & Fire Dispatch) to 2300 E. 10th St. on a reported structure fire at the abandoned Spann Elementary School. Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke showing from multiple points of the building and initiated a fast attack. Despite the size of the building firefighters were able to quickly knock down and extinguish the fire within the school. Unfortunately this is not the first fire inside the building. In the past squatters and homeless individuals have lit fires inside to keep warm. The fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by Code 4 Photography
