Pueblo Garage Fire

On May 8th, 2023 just before 20:00 Pueblo 911 Communications Center (City of Pueblo Police & Fire Dispatch) dispatched Pueblo Fire Department was dispatched to the 1200 block of Elm St. on a structure fire. Chief 3 arrived to find a fully involved detached garage in the back yard of an abandoned residence. Engine 33 arrived and stretched a pre-connect cross lay to the rear of the home and initiated fire attack while firefighters from Engine 34 caught the hydrant with a 3 inch line. Utility crews from black hills energy were requested and expedited due to multiple downed lines. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control after about 15 minutes and remained on scene while black hills handled the electrical issues.
