Mountain View Barn Fire

On March 9th, 2023 at 10:09 Weld County Regional Communications Center (WCRCC) dispatched Mountain View Fire Rescue, Platteville-Gilcrest Fire Protection DistrictFrederick-Firestone Fire Protection District to a reported fire on Weld County Rd. 32 at Weld County 9.5 north of Hwy. 66 in Mead. Engine 2203 arrived to a fully involved barn-shed structure and pulled 1 3/4 for defensive fire attack. Further size up revealed extended fire conditions and a request was made for tender from Frederick-Firestone as well as one additional tender which came from Platteville-Gilcrest. Engine 2207 arrived, Level 1 Staged, and was assigned by Battalion 2260 to move up to Engine 2203 and provide them with their tank water. The hay piles smolder for several hours and that will for several days due to the density of the bales. Additional information provided by Mountain View Fire Rescue
