Lakewood Structure Fire

At 12:36 on June 18th, 2023 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 1600 block of S. Kipling Court in Lakewood. Engine 8 arrived to a medium size two-story single-family structure with smoke showing from the roof and a working fire and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack in the offensive strategy. Tower 8 arrived and started the primary search, Medic 8 pulled a 2nd line and Engine 3 secured the water supply to Engine 8. Medic 4 arrived and assigned as medical and District 2 arrived and assumed command. Crews found piles of dry pine needles and a pine tree touching the roof that fueled the fire and crews were able to quickly extinguish it. The cause of the fire was potentially an electrical problem with the solar panel system. Several panels, circuits, and the roof were damaged. There were no injuries.
