Westminster Legacy Ridge Way Residential Fire
Westminster Chimney Fire
At 19:16 on December 11th, 2023 Westminster Fire Department, North Metro Fire Rescue District and Thornton Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 10900 block of Legacy Ridge Way. Westminster Communications Center advised that 911 caller reporting flames from the roof and everyone was out of the structure. Engine 4 arrived to a two-story single-family with a working fire from the chimney and pulled a 1 3/4 and Medic 4 secured the water supply to Engine 4. Battalion 1 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Truck 62 to set-up for roof ops and Truck 6 to pull a 2nd line to floor 2 to the attic space. Medic 62 arrived and and assigned as medical. Crews found heavy fire in the attic space, and was challenging due to the very large structure with concealed spaces in the attic area. Command requested 2 additional engines to the scene. Engine 72 secured a 2nd water supply and pulled a back up line to the Alpha side door. Crews got a knock on the fire and started an extended overhaul. The cause is under investigation and no injuries were reported. Additional information provided from Westminster Fire Department
