Adams County Fire Rescue dedicated their new Engine 12 with a official “Push-In Ceremony” at Station 12 on April 6th, 2024. In keeping with tradition, some of Station 12’s engineers sprayed the engine and dried it with the help of fellow crew members and then ACFR crew members, Chief Staff, and Board of Directors pushed the new Engine into its bay. Engine 12 is a 2024 Pierce Velocity (38430) 1500 GPM Pierce PUC pump with 500 gallons of water. This tradition began in the 1800’s when firefighters who used horse drawn equipment to fight fires, had to push in the apparatus back into the bay on their own.
