At 16:27 on September 2nd, 2024 Aurora 911 dispatched Aurora Fire Rescue to a possible box truck on fire at E. 18th Ave. and Chambers Rd. Ladder 5 spotted a header of smoke while enroute in the truck yard at Helena St. and Montview Blvd. Ladder 5 arrived to a fully involved tractor-trailer and Engine 5 was unable to secure a water supply due to the location of the fire within the truck yard. Crews found fire from a semi truck exposing a second truck as well as a storage container inside the truck yard. Battalion 1 arrived and assumed command and requested a 3rd engine. Engine 2 arrived and began pumping their water supply to Engine 5. Engine 12 arrived on scene shortly after and assisted Engine 2 with securing the water supply from a hydrant outside of the truck yard. Engine 2 and Engine 12 stretched over 1000 feet of supply line to connect Engine 5 to the hydrant. Fire crews got the fire under control quickly with no injuries reported.

Initial Response: Battalion 1, Ladder 5, Engine 5 & Engine 2

Added: Engine 12

Falck: Medic 113
