Aurora Structure Fire

On May 28th, 2024 at approximately 11:05 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire at the Timbers Townhomes, 3608 S. Fairplay Way. Engine 6 arrived on scene and found heavy fire coming from a carport and two trash dumpsters located underneath it which was threatening structures. Crews were on scene about thirty minutes, extinguishing the fire, checking for extension in a nearby residence and mopping up. An off-duty Aurora firefighter captain rescued a dog from inside the building before crews arrived on scene. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
