Aurora Structure Fire

On December 6th, 2024 Aurora Fire Rescue Ladder 6 observed smoke coming from a neighborhood just east of their station. Soon after multiple calls came in to the Aurora 911 Dispatch Center and a Fire 1 response was dispatched at 13:32 to the 35oo block of S. Joplin St. Engine 6 and Ladder 6 arrived on scene to find a two-story single-family structure with smoke showing. Engine 6 pulled a line for fire attack with Ladder 6 conducted a primary search. As crews arrived on scene one patient was evaluated and refused transport to the hospital. Crews were able to get the fire under control. Crews remained on scene to conduct investigations and overhaul.
