On February 24th, 2024 Boulder Fire-Rescue Department responded to a report of a wildland fire at 900 Baseline Rd. in the Chautauqua Park near the near the First Flatiron. Engine 2503 arrived to fire showing on the Chautauqua overlook. Battalion 2570 arrived and assumed command and requested a additional resources from the county. Crews hiked in on icy trails to get to the fire. Boulder County was in Red Flag Weather conditions all day and the evening had strong winds. The fire was able to be contained at about 1/4 acre.
