Commercial Building Fire

On March 28th, 2024 at 11:38 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to commercial structure fire at the Xpres Shred, 15580 E. Hinsdale Circle in Centennial. Medic 42 arrived on scene with a large amount of white smoke coming from the southeast corner of the building. Engine 42 arrived and pulled a 2 1/2 line in for fire attack and found active fire from a paper machine that was used for commercial document shredding. Tower 35 went to the roof and removed a skylight to help with ventilation and air flow of the building. Employees were able to spray the fire with fire extinguishers that minimized the spread of the fire to nearby bales of shredded paper and all employees evacuated prior to crews arriving on scene The fire was put under control at 12:11.
Two employees were evaluated on scene with no transport. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
