Lakewood Bear Creek Trail Vegetation Fire

On October 22nd, 2024 at 20:29 West Metro Fire Rescue Rescue 10 was dispatched to a reported vegetation fire in the area of 8789 W. Cornell Ave. in Lakewood. Jeffcom advised that caller reporting bushes on fire between Wadsworth Blvd. & Garrison St. Rescue 10 arrived to a grass fire in the open space along the Bear Creek trail and upgraded the call to a small vegetation fire response. Engine 8 arrived and made access for fire attack with Brush 9. Crews reported that the fire was 15×15 and burning with medium brush with about 6 foot flames with no winds conditions. Firefighters were able to contain the flames very quickly with only a couple of acres consumed and mop-up started around 21:30. No structures were involved.
