West Metro Electrical Hazard

At 20:37 on September 15th, 2024 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 9 responded to a electrical hazard in the 14300 block of Dartmounth Drive in Lakewood. Engine 9 arrived to medium size two-story single-family residents with an order of smoke in the area and started the investigation. Engine 9 upgraded the call to a full response with an arcing electrical panel and requested Xcel to the scene. District 2 arrived and assumed command and Engine 4 went inside to check for extension and the primary search with Medic 4. Crews found active fire burning behind the electrical panel, but the scene was delayed with the active power still on and until Xcel arrived to secured the panel. Xcel arrived and got the electrical issue controlled and crews started an extended overhaul. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
