Lamar Structure Fire
At 07:50 on April 3rd, 2024, Prowers Communications dispatched the Lamar Fire Department and Lamar Ambulance Service responded to South 3rd Street for a shed fire. While responding, crews were advised that the fire had exposures on multiple sides of the building. Truck 1 was first due on scene and was placed in the alleyway. Truck 1 reported a fully involved shed on fire and requested Prowers Communications to send a second tone for a working structure fire. Truck 1 requested that Engine 6 lay supply line from a plug to Truck 1. Engine 6 crews were assigned to fire attack off Truck 1. The crews deployed 100 feet of 1.75” hose off Truck 1’s front bumper followed by 200 feet of 1.75” hose from a cross lay. Engine 5 and Med 3 arrived on scene and were placed as next out apparatus. The fire was contained at 08:05 and the crews began mop up. All crews cleared the scene and were returned to service at 09:30. Additional information provided by Lamar Fire Department.
