
Littleton West Ida Ave Residential Structure Fire
South Metro Residential Fire
On March 27th, 2024 at 09:40 South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire in the 1100 block of W. Ida Ave. in Littleton. Engine 11 arrived to smoke showing and active fire coming from the basement of a duplex. pulled 1 3/4 line in for transitional attack through a window and quickly get water on the fire. Upon entry into the basement firefighters encountered a large amount of personal property hampering their attack on the fire. Occupants of both residences were able to evacuate without injury. Fire was under control at 10:24 with no injuries to residents or firefighters. Firefighters were able to rescue a cat from the basement, Medic’s administered oxygen and were able to revive the cat, 2 other cats were later found by investigators and reunited with the homeowners. The SMFR Fire Marshal’s Office believes this was an accidental fire started by an undetermined electrical malfunction. Two residents and three cats of one of the duplexes have been displaced at this time while the second unit did incur minor smoke damage. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
