Manitou Springs Structure Fire

At 18:57 on May 16th, 2024 the El Paso County 911 Communications Center dispatched the Manitou Springs Fire Department and Crystal Park Volunteer Fire Department to the 50 block of Manitou Ave. for a possible structure fire. The Colorado Springs Fire Department and American Medical Response – Colorado Springs were also dispatched under an auto-aid agreement. While units were responding dispatch updated that they were receiving multiple callers reporting smoke and flames coming from the building. On arrival crews found a small bungalow on fire and was beginning offensive attack. Engine 1010 was able to get a quick knock down of the fire and conducted primary search of the building. Crews then began salvage and overhaul on the building to determine the fire was under control. The American Red Cross was contacted for 2 displaced residents. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Additional information was provided by the Manitou Springs Fire Department.
