Security Structure Fire
At 19:42 on June 3rd, 2024 El Paso County 911 Communications dispatched the Security Fire Department, Fountain Fire Department, Stratmoor Hills Fire Protection District, Hanover Fire Department, and Fort Carson Fire & Emergency Services to the 100 block of Grinnell St. for a possible structure fire. While units were responding, dispatch advised there was a fire in the kitchen, the residents had evacuated the home, and now saw increased smoke production from the kitchen window. While enroute to the scene Medic 183 reported a smoke header coming from the area and upgraded the incident to a working structure fire, and Battalion Chief 102 then request Hanover respond with two additional water tenders with drop tanks. Engine 113 arrived pulled an 1 3/4 attack line and advanced to the structure, Engine 213 arrived and assisted Engine 113 with their line. At 19:53 Engine 113 and Engine 213 got a knock on the fire, at that time crews transitioned into overhaul and salvage operations. Shortly after companies began to be released from the scene. No injuries were reported, and the fire is under investigation.
