On April 13th, 2024 at 12:59 Weld County Regional Communications Center dispatched Mountain View Fire Rescue and Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District to a large vegetation fire near the intersection of Weld County Rd. 7 and County Rd. 20.5. Crews arrived and was able to get the fire under control quickly. The landowner was conducting a control burn of a ditch and briefly lost containment of the fire which led to the flames spreading into nearby grasslands.
