Las Animas-Bent County Fire Department, covering 780 square miles in Bent County (Colorado) including the areas of Adobe Creek, Adobe Creek Reservoir-South, Arkansas River, Bent County Airport, Bent’s Old Fort, Boggsville Historical Site, Cornelia, Fort Lyon Canal, Gilpin, Highland Canal, Horse Creek, Horse Creek Reservoir-East, Las Animas Junction, Melina & Riverdale. Las Animas-Bent County Fire Department was formed in 1956 as the Las Animas Volunteer Fire Department (LAVFD).

Las Animas-Bent County Fire Department (LABCFD) is also known as Las Animas/Bent County Fire Protection District (LABCFPD) and Las Animas Fire Department (LAFD).
