Broomfield 9/11 Memorial Ceremony 2025
Annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony
North Metro Fire Rescue District, Broomfield Police Department, and the City and County of Broomfield hosted their annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on September 11th, 2025 at the 9/11 Memorial at the Community Park. The honor guard members from Broomfield Police Department and North Metro Fire Rescue District and a local bagpiper participated in the ceremony with remarks from Mayor Castriotta, Police Chief Hempelmann, Fire Chief Daugherty, a wreath laying, and ceremonial bell ringing to remember each of the three sites attacked on September 11th, 2001. The 9/11 Memorial features three bronze statues, one incorporating the piece of steel, and six bronze panels encased in stone. The statues represent the firefighters, police officers and civilians who helped one another through the tragedy, some making the ultimate sacrifice. The bronze panels represent each of the three sites of the plane crashes and include the names of those who died on that day. Additional information was provided by North Metro Fire Rescue
