Westminster Structure Fire
*On December 9th, 2025 at 15:58 Westminster Fire Department and Adams County Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 8000 block of Wolff St. Westminster Communications Center advised that 911 caller reporting that fire in the upper corner bedroom and smoke showing. Engine 1 arrived to a small tow-story multi-family dwelling with a working fire from the 2nd floor Alpha side and pulled a hand line for fire control. Engine 1 advised that party trapped on the 2nd floor and started rescue mode. Battalion 1 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy on the Bravo side. Engine 4 secured the water supply to Engine 1 and Medic 1 assigned as medical. Crews were backed out of the structure with reports of a subject with a possible firearm and crews were put into protection in place from Command. Engine 1 started their deck gun operations into the fire unit window for fire attack to control the fire. Truck 5 set-up for master stream operations on the westside of the building. When the scene was safe, crews were able to go back into the structure for fire control. The fire was put under control and out 16:42 and crews worked on an extended overhaul and investigation. One resident was transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. Another resident was transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries sustained from the fire. Three Westminster Police officers were evaluated on scene for smoke inhalation. Families from two units were displaced and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross. The Adam’s County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once next of kin have been notified. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
