At 14:05 on January 27th, 2026 South Metro Fire Rescue Ladder 18 responded to a reported outside fire in the 8600 block of Snowbrush Lane in unincorporated Douglas County. Dispatchers with South Metro Emergency Communications were able to obtain a live video feed from the scene, showing the fire initially reported as approximately three feet by three feet and spreading to a wooden fence and the exterior of the home. Based on this real-time information, Safety 1 upgraded the incident to a confirmed residential fire while crews were en route. Ladder 18 arrived to a two-story home and pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack and quickly applied water to the fire, which had extended up the side of the home. Battalion 2 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha-Bravo corner. Safety 1 with Medic 18 started the primary searches on the first and second floors. Crews got the fire under control quickly with no extension into the attic or interior of the home. All occupants of the home were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported.
