Ice Rescue Training

On February 3rd, 2026 West Metro Fire Rescue conducted their annual ice rescue training at Bear Creek Lake Park in Morrison. This annual training provides fire and rescue crews to hone their skills and, while wearing rescue suits, and rescuing portrayed victims in very fringed waters. Crews were rotated throughout the morning and early afternoon, saving makeshift scenario victims being trapped on the ice, and others who have fallen through the ice. This regular training in ponds, lakes and reservoirs prepares fire and rescue crews, in the event of an actual emergency.
