Aurora East Asbury Circle Apartment Fire
Aurora Apartment Fire
On March 16th, 2026 around 11:40 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to the 12700 block of E. Asbury Circle after several people called 911 and reported an apartment on fire. First arriving Engine 7 and Ladder 8 observed light smoke showing from a 2nd floor window on the Charlie side. Firefighters entered the apartment and found a bedroom charged with smoke from a smoldering mattress, bedding and carpet. All searches of the unit were clear. To prevent unnecessary water, smoke and soot damage, Firefighters used a bedroom window to remove the smoldering contents. Minor overhaul was needed to completely extinguish the fire which caused significant heat and smoke damage inside the bedroom. No injuries occurred, and the fire was accidental, likely caused by an unattended candle. Additional information provided by Aurora Fire Rescue
