Aurora Kitchen Fire

At 10:55 on May 12th, 2026 Aurora Fire Rescue possible structure fire in the 13900 block of E. Linvale Place. Aurora 911 received a report of smoke coming from a residence. First arriving Engine 7 observed smoke showing from the front door of a duplex with a working fire and advanced a hose line inside for fire attack. A kitchen fire was quickly located and extinguished and the fire was placed under control at 11:05. Additional crews conducted searches inside both units of the duplex which were all clear. Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to the adjoining home, and crews spent the next hour overhauling and ventilating smoke. One occupant of the home was displaced and being assisted by the American Red Cross. One adult was transported to the hospital for evaluation after experiencing minor smoke inhalation, and no other injuries occurred. Additional information provided by Aurora Fire Rescue
