Chad Tellinger Memorial

A private service was held for Lieutenant Chad Tellinger on the North Metro Fire Rescue District on June 4th, 2026 in Thornton with a funeral procession down I-25. Fire personnel gathered on the E. 144th Ave. overpass to honor Lt. Tellinger as the procession passed below on I-25 to the celebration of life at the New Hills Church in Brighton. Lt. Tellinger was off duty when he died on May 20th, 2026 following an illness. He proudly served the community for 27 years. Lt. Tellinger joined North Metro Fire Rescue in 1998 and quickly established a reputation for his strong work ethic, commitment to public service and dedication to firefighter health and safety through his longtime involvement with Local 2203. Throughout his career, he earned the respect of colleagues and supervisors through his professionalism, operational expertise and unwavering commitment to training and preparedness. He had a deep passion for the fire service and its people. In 2022, Tellinger received the Fire Chief’s Exceptional Performance Award in recognition of his continued contributions to the organization and the fire service. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, two sisters, and his mother and his legacy will remain a lasting part of NMFR. Information provided by North Metro Fire Rescue District.
