West Metro Outside Fire

On July, 16th, 2026 at 20:56 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a outside fire in the 10600 block of W. Progress Ave. in Littleton. Engine 12 arrived on scene to find several small spot fires that were ignited in 2-foot-deep vegetation, by the use of illegal fireworks. Several neighbors explained that they had seen flames in an open field behind their home, called 911, then rushed to the area armed with fire extinguishers, a small cooler filled with water and rakes. Crews ensured all hotspots were extinguished, prior to clearing the scene. No injuries were reported and the fire cause is under investigation.
