Station 13 Open House

On August 15, 2026 West Metro Fire Rescue held an open house at Station 13, 12613 W. Indore Place in Ken Caryl.  The community came out to tour the station, meet up with the station firefighters, ask questions and have their photos taken with some of the apparatus. Station 13 was dedicated on Friday, June 13th, 1997 at 13:13. The WMFR open houses also help to show how much the coasts are for the department from the turnout gear and SCBA to radios, helmets, tools, and all the other equipment they rely on every day including training, outfitting a single West Metro firefighter costs nearly $50,000. It’s one of the biggest behind-the-scenes investments they make-before a firefighter ever responds to a single call. Like everything else, the cost of this lifesaving equipment continues to rise.
