Polar Plunge 2008 The Inaugural Special Olympics Colorado Polar Plunge “Freezin’ for a Reason” was held on November 15th, 2008 with 209 plungers that came out to brave the cold temperatures at Chatfield Reservoir in Littleton. 28 teams of plungers including 12 law enforcement agencies.  The event raised $55,000 for the 10,000 athletes of Special Olympics Colorado.

Residential Structure Fire On November 1st, 2008 at approximately 16:00 Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire on the city’s south side. Crews arrived on scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming from a two-story, single-family home.
