On August 24th, 2013 Lafayette Fire Department opened its second fire station at 511 Exempla Circle near Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital with an open house and dedication. Station 2 will provide better coverage to south Lafayette. In July of 2012, the groundbreaking took place for the station. The station features three vehicle bays and living quarters, fitness facility, and training tower, with a primary response zone including all areas of the city south of South Boulder Road.
