Hartsel Fire Protection District (HFPD), covering 750 square miles in Park & Fremont Counties (Colorado) including the areas of Agate Creek, Antero Junction, Antero Reservoir, Badger Creek Ranch, Balfour, Buffalo Gulch, Campfire, Eleven Mile Reservoir, Ellsha-Alden Ditch, Fremont County, Garo, Hartsel Ranches, Haver, Prince Ditch, Pike Isabel Village, Pike National Forest, Ranch of the Rockies, Red Hill, Salt Creek, South Park Ranches, Spinney Mountain Reservoir, Sulphur Mountain, Trout Creek Pass, Trump, Wildwood & Wilkerson Pass. In 1956, five Hartsel residents got together to form a volunteer fire department and in 1970, residents incorporated the department as the Hartsel Fire Protection District.

Hartsel Fire Protection District uses South Park Ambulance District for all emergency incidents including medical and transports.

Hartsel Fire Protection District is dispatched by Park County Communications Center.
