Black Hawk Communications Center

Black Hawk Communications Center, provides 24-hour dispatch services Gilpin County, Colorado and located at the Gilpin County Justice Center, 2960 Dory Hill Road, Suite 300 in Black Hawk.

Black Hawk Communications Center was established in 1994, three years after limited gaming began in the City of Black Hawk. Originally, the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office dispatched emergency calls for the Black Hawk Police Department. The demand for county services and the need for personalized service in Black Hawk led to the creation of the City’s first Communications Center. The Communications Center was first established on the first floor of the City’s historic 1870 schoolhouse after it was converted into a police station in 1997.  

Black Hawk Communications Center consists of these agencies: Black Hawk Fire Department & Black Hawk Police Department.
