Buena Vista Fire Department was founded in 1881 and was an all-volunteer department covering 3.44 square miles in Chaffee County (Colorado). As of May 12, 2021 the Buena Vista Fire Department ceased to operate as a separate entity and was taken over by Chaffee County Fire Protection District for all emergency and non-emergency services.
