Colorado Springs RV Fire

At approximately 16:05 on April 14th, 2021 Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of Lower Gold Camp Rd. at the Norris Penrose Event Center for a possible vehicle fire. Once en route, dispatch tapped out Engine 1, Engine 5, and Brush 5 to the area of N. Moreno Ave. and Lower Gold Camp Rd. for another vehicle fire. Once Engine 13 arrived on scene they confirmed both incidents were the same and dispatch merged the calls. Engine 13 then established Penrose Command and requested a working fire assignment. Dispatch then asked command if there were any injuries, when command advised there were no injuries, dispatch then tapped out Engine 4 for a nearby report of a person on fire. Once on scene of that call, Engine 4 determined there was no one on fire and the RP was referencing the RV Fire. Crews were able to extinguish the flames and investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. The Colorado Springs Fire Department, Division of the Fire Marshal is investigating the fire.

Working Fire Response: Battalion 1, 73 (EMS Liaison / PIO), X-Ray 193 (Fire Investigator), and X-Ray 198 (Fire Investigator).
