Loveland Garfield Avenue Kitchen Fire

At approximately 10:01 AM on May 8,2026, Loveland Emergency Communications Center dispatched Loveland Fire Rescue Authority to a reported residential structure fire in the 1100 block of North Garfield Avenue. Dispatch advised that a party walking by the residence heard a smoke alarm coming from the residence.

Engine 41 arrived first on scene, designating the 11th Street side as the Alpha side. After completing a 360-degree assessment, the crew confirmed a working fire located in the kitchen on the Bravo side of the residence and stretched an attack line to extinguish the fire. Engine 41 initially assumed command, directing the second-due engine to secure a water supply while the first-in support company was assigned to search operations. Upon the arrival of Battalion 41, command was formally transferred and the incident remained in an offensive strategy. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and moved to overhaul and ventilation.

During the ventilation process, crews observed smoke in the attic and investigated via the interior access point. After a thorough check, no extension was discovered into the attic. Personnel remained on the scene to complete overhaul operations and begin the initial fire investigation.
