Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD), located in Prince George’s & Montgomery Counties including the areas of Adelphi, Bladensburg, Branchville, Brentwood, Chillum, College Park, Lanham, Lewisdale, Mount Rainer, Riverdale, Riverdale Heights, Takoma Park & University Park.

Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1888 as the Hyattsville Fire Company and was the first volunteer fire company in the county.

Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department is part of the Prince George’s County Fire Department.
