Estacada Rural Fire District # 69
Estacada Rural Fire District # 69 (ERFD), founded in 1964 and covering 88 square miles in Clackamas County (Oregon) including the areas of Clackamas Creek, Eagle Creek, Faraday Hills, Currinsville, Dodge, Estacada, Estacada Lake, Garfield, George, Linglebeck Creek, Moss Hill, River Mill, Sailing Creek, Spring Creek, Springwater, Timber Park, Tracy, Valley View Airport, Viola & Wade Creek.
Estacada Rural Fire District # 69 was originally organized in 1901 as the Estacada City Fire Department by the Railway Company. In the 1965 the Currinsville-Cazadero Rural Fire Protection District consolidation to form with the district to form the Estacada Rural Fire Protection District.
In 2016 the Clackamas Fire District No. 1 (CFD1) – Fire Prevention Office has entered into an inter-governmental agreement to provide all aspects of fire prevention services to the Estacada Rural Fire District # 69. These services include, but are not limited to the following; plan review, acceptance testing, fire investigations, public education and fire/life safety occupancy inspections.
On January 1st, 2020 the Clackamas Fire District No. 1 began providing fire suppression and emergency medical services to the district through an 18 month contract for service in the form of an Intergovernmental Agreement with the thought that the two districts would merge.
On November of 2020 voters in Estacada voted against a merger and opted for their own community based Fire District. On July 1st, 2021 Estacada Fire District was once again running as it’s own fire district to serve the community.
