Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R), covering 390 square miles in Washington, Clackamas, Multnomah & Yamhill Counties (Oregon) including the areas of Aloha, Beaverton, Bethany, Cedar Mill, Cooper Mountain, Durham, Farmington, Hillsboro, King City, Huber, Laurel, Newberg, North Plains, Prograss, Raleigh Hills, Reedville, Rivergrove, Rockcreek, Scholls, Sexton Mountain, Sherwood, Springwood, Stafford, Tigard, Tualatin, West Linn, West Hills, West Union, Wilsonville & Yamhill.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue started in 1937 as the Tualatin Fire Department. In 1946 the Tualatin Rural Fire Protection District was formed. In 1948 Stafford-Wilsonville Fire Department residents vote to become part of Tualatin Rural Fire Protection District. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue was formed in 1989 with the merger between Washington County Fire District # 1 (Originally formed in 1972) and the Tualatin Rural Fire Protection District. Multnomah County Fire District # 4 & Multnomah County Fire District # 20 merged with the district in 1995.

The district annexed Beaverton in 1996. In 2001 Rosemont Fire District annexes into the service area. West Linn Fire Department in 2004 annexes into the the fire district. In 2016 the district provides services to the Washington County Fire District # 2 and extends fire service to the Newberg Rural Fire Protection District. In 2017 Washington County Fire District # 2 was annexed in the district and in 2018 Newberg Rural Fire Protection District was annexed into the district.
