Confirmed Residential Fire

Around 19:45 on December 30th, 2022 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a smoke investigation inside which was upgraded to a reported structure fire in the 9500 block of Shenstone Drive in in unincorporated Douglas County. Caller reported smoke inside and possible fire with a peloton bike with flames seen. With the update, Battalion 4 upgraded the call to a confirmed working residential structure fire. Tower 45 arrived on scene to a small, two-story, single family residence with nothing showing from the exterior and established command in the offensive strategy. Medic 44 arrived and assisted with the hydrant while Engine 44 laid in 5 inch supply line to the fire. Tower 45 made entry and confirmed smoke in the structure. Tower 45 made knockdown with a water can prior to the arrival of the first-in engine. Engine 41 was assigned to assist Tower 45 with overhaul. Crew were able to quickly controlled and extinguished the room and contents fire. No injuries were reported. The cause was accidental and possibly linked to heat sources too near combustibles.
