Adams County Shed Fire

On April 24th, 2025 at 14:20 Adams County Fire Rescue and South Adams County Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 1500 block of E. 73rd Ave. Crews arrived to a fully engulfed shed/chicken coop in the homeowners backyard and immediately put water on the fire. An adjacent large tree also had fire in the middle and the top of the tree. Firefighters cut some of the limbs down on the tree to help extinguish the fire. There were no injuries, however, three goats perished in the fire, along with multiple chickens. Firefighters help save some baby goats by supplying oxygen. The cause is under investigation.
