Aurora Residential Fire

Around 13:30 on July 30th, 2025 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 2300 block of S. Salem St. Aurora 911 advised that a fire was inside the home and a child missing, possibly trapped inside. Ladder 8 arrived to a working structure fire in a two-story with smoke showing from the front door and began an aggressive search for the child. Engine 7 arrived and established the water supply and advanced a hose line inside for fire attack. Engine 6 assisted with the water supply and pulled a 2nd line off Engine 7. Ladder 6 went to the roof for ventilation and Engine 10 secured a 2nd water supply. All searches of the home were clear, and the incident was placed under control by 13:45. After the fire was out, the missing child was located outside the home, safe and uninjured and reunited with their family and the American Red Cross was requested.
