Aurora Vegetation Fire

At 13:11 on August 11th, 2025 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a vegetation fire near N. Sable Blvd. and E. 6th. Ave. with Aurora 911 receiving multiple calls reporting the fire. Engine 9 arrived with about 50×50 brush fire spreading in moderate fuels through the open space between Elk Ridge Apartments in the 500 block of N. Eagle Circle and Toll Gate Creek. Firefighters started a direct attack with hose lines and hand tools, and additional resources were requested. Although no structures were immediately threatened, Engines were in place to defend nearby buildings if a wind shift occurred. Crews worked for approximately 20 minutes to stop forward progress and contain the fire. The incident was placed under control within an hour, and the fire was declared out at 15:30. No injuries occurred and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire burned around one acre. Additional information provided by Aurora Fire Rescue
