
Broomfield Brainard Drive Plane Crash
North Metro Plane Crash
On May 17th, 2025 just after 10:00 North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to a possible plane crash at Brainard Drive off Midway Blvd. in Broomfield. Engine 67 arrived to a small plane crash and on fire in the open space with a grass fire and started fire attack with an extended hose lay. Brush 67 arrived and started work on the grass fire which was put out quickly. The plane was a Beechcraft twin-engine airplane that took off from the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport and immediately tried to return to the airport after reporting an issue with the door being opened. Two people on board did not survive the crash. The NTSB and FAA are investigating the accident. Additional information provided by North Metro Fire Rescue
