Broomfield West 123rd Place Structure Fire

On February 25th just before 14:00 North Metro Fire Rescue District and Westminster Fire Department was alerted to a possible structure fire in the 51oo block of W. 123rd Place in Broomfield. A neighbor noticed smoke and fire on the outside of the house across the street and notified Broomfield Public Safety Communications Center and a  full structure fire response was dispatched. Engine 4 arrived to find an arching electrical fire on the Charlie side of the structure. Due to the fire being electrical crews were unable to extinguish the fire until the arrival of Xcel. A 1 3 /4 line was pulled to the Delta side for protection. Two ABC extinguishers were used while waiting for Xcel to arrive on scene. Crews intermittently utilized the ABC extinguishers and check the inside of the home for any extension. Once Xcel arrived the power was quickly shut off and the fire extinguished.
