On April 19th, 2025 at 08:36 Castle Rock Fire & Rescue Department responded to a motor vehicle crash with extrication at E. Plum Creek Pkwy. & Plum Creek Blvd. near the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Crews arrived to find a single-vehicle into the guard rail with a single occupant inside trapped. Crews removed the roof to extricate the driver as well as lift the guard rail to remove the vehicle.
