At 10:15 on September 6th, 2025 Castle Rock Fire & Rescue Engine 154 and Medic 154 were dispatched to a fall victim near Wolfensberger Rd. and Grayside Circle. The 911 caller reported a paragliding crash in an open field north of the intersection and additional resources were dispatched including a Battalion Chief, Safety Officer and Technical Rescue Squad. Engine 154 arrived a short time later, assumed command and made patient contact with Medic 154. Due to the off-road crash location a rescue litter and trail wheel were used to extract the patient as safely and comfortably as possible. Medic 154 transported the seriously injured paragliding pilot emergent to a local hospital.
