On December 11, 2025 at 16:46 Poudre Fire Authority was dispatched by Fort Collins 911 (100) to a reported structure fire in the 1200 block of West Prospect Road. While enroute dispatch advised they had multiple callers and they were receiving mixed reports about evacuations. As Battalion 1 arrived on scene, he reported a working structure fire on the south side of Building L to include an exterior-in fire and requested a working incident page. Battalion 1 assigned Engine 4 to Fire Attack, Rescue 4 to Primary Search and Engine 3 to Water Supply. Firefighters deployed a pre-connected hoseline to the exterior of the structure and began an exterior attack while Engine 2 firefighters pulled a secondary line and made the push, interior. Firefighters were able to quickly limit extension and began an extensive overhaul to ensure all fire had been found and extinguished. Personnel utilized truck mounted scene lighting and portable scene lighting to illuminate the scene during overhaul operations, ensuring safety while pulling ceiling, cutting inspection holes in the attic and the chimney area. Crews completed a secondary search and utilized mutliple positive pressure ventilation fans to clear the smoke from within the structure. Two families were displaced by this fire and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Poudre Fire Authority.
