Mountain View Mobile Home Fire

On May 26th, 2025 just before 22:30 Mountain View Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the Sans Souci Mobile Home community, 1561 S. Foothills Hwy. off Hwy. 93. Engine 209 arrived on scene to a mobile home with light smoke showing and obvious damage to structure. As firefighters pulled a line to the home, they found that the fire was out but there were structural issues to the walls and roof from a small explosion. The owner escaped from the home unhurt and told crews that a stove had been installed that day and that while he used it in the evening he smelled gas. At some point later an electrical short in a wall ignited the collecting gas and caused the small explosion. Information provided by Mountain View Fire Rescue
