Franktown Landspout Damage

At 14:37 on July 14th 2025 Franktown Fire Protection District responded to reports of a building collapse near Hwy. 86 and Burning Tree Drive. Captain 183 and Safety 181 arrived on scene and found several buildings in a strip mall were damaged due to a small landspout tornado that went through the area a few minutes before the call came in. Firefighters began checking the buildings for possible injuries or any other hazards. Luckily, there were no injuries and there was a pet groomer building involved and all of the dogs were moved out of the facility safely and crews continued to assess the collapsed/damaged buildings for potential hazards. Per Franktown Fire, a total of 7 buildings received roof damage and a travel trailer next to the buildings was also damaged. Additional information provided by Franktown Fire Protection District
