On February 28th, 2025 at approximately 16:05 the Weld County Communications Center dispatched the Greeley Fire Department to a small vegetation fire south of Highway 34 on 95th Ave. Brush 106 arrived on scene and reported a small 1 acre vegetation fire. Engine 106 deployed a 1 inch forestry line from the engine and began extinguishment from the roadway while Brush 106 and firefighters from Engine 107 began work with booster lines and hand tools. Prior to arrival a Bobcat Skid-Steer had been in operation securing a fire line on the north side of the burn area. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and completed mop up once the fire was extinguished. The likely cause of the fire was welding.
